MISSIONS
●To guarantee the right for instruction and training to all
Tunisian nationals, and this according to the dispositions of the
orientation law number 2002-80 dated July 23rd, related to education and
school teaching of the law number 93-10 dated February 17th 1993 on the
orientation law of vocational training.
●To develop the education and training system and to promote it so that
it contributes to improve the general scientific and cultural level of
the Tunisian people and to allow all individuals to access the highest
levels of knowledge and qualification according to the renewed
requirements of the society and the needs of development of the country
with the aim of setting up a national economy based on knowledge.
●To monitor the public
education and training system and the depending institutions and
structures on the central, regional and local level as well, and to
ensure the follow-up and the development according to quality norms and
the equity principle.
●To ensure the complementarity and the interaction between the cycles,
the circles and fields of school education and vocational training and
to define the ways to reach it, and prepare for the higher education and/or
to the active life on the basis of the distribution of the learners in
the different fields, sections and specialties taking into account their
skills and the structural needs, present and future, of the employment
market.
●To promote forms of teaching and alternate
training between the school and vocational training centers and in the
framework of partnership with economic institutions, so as to improve
the employability of learners and to ensure the adequacy between
training and the employment market needs.
●To establish the referentials, national norms and standards
required in the fields of education, training and evaluation, and to
ensure their implementation and development with regard to the changes
occurring in the education, training and employment sectors.
●To define the ways of
evaluation and certification in conformity with the national norms and
standards and to ensure their implementation.
●To diversify the forms and
ways of teaching and training using in-class and self apprenticing, the
use of the new communication and information technologies in the
different school and training activities and to promote distance
learning and training via schools and virtual centers.
